Tranne announced that there are still funds in the program committee budget. Membership dues notices are due out this month. Members can expect to receive their dues invoice via e-mail sometime this week. Dues should be paid by December 1st. Prospective new members should call Linda Roser at the Jackson County Law Library.

Union List: It has been decided that the union list will be made into an accessible form in word perfect. Mike Reynolds encouraged members to continue updating their holdings on the list.
Holiday Luncheon: the December 14th holiday luncheon to be held at Shook Hardy & Bacon from 11:00-2:00. It will be catered by Smokestack BBQ. Parking will not be validated.

New Business –
Nominations Committee: Tranne will send out an e-mail for volunteers.
Bylaws: Mike McReynolds reported that the bylaws contain specific instructions for the nominations committee to follow. He will e-mail a copy to them, if not accessible from the website.
Other New Business: It was brought up that KCALL used to have a liaison to the Legal Administrators Group. Mike McReynolds commented that it is beneficial to our organization because it lets the legal community know that KCALL exists & it also provides knowledge of firm openings. Preferably the liaison would be someone from a law firm. It was brought up that before appointing a liaison it would be best to speak with the Legal Administrators Group or a member thereof about the possibility of having a KCALL liaison. Further discussion tabled for next board meeting.
Lissa Lord talked about the ongoing web page of memories that librarians from Los Angeles to New York are compiling as a type of memory wall of the events on September 11th that will function as a legal research page to the aftermath. If you wish to contribute your memories or thoughts, you may do so anonymously, but indicate what area of the country you are in.
Introduction of visitors Carol Levers & Sarah Bohndorf from the Kansas City, KS Public Library.
The business meeting was adjourned at 12:25 and Dale Magariel introduced Lissa Lord – UMKC’s Director of Electronic Resources who spoke on the nuts and bolts of publishing an electronic newsletter.
