What is KCALL

The Kansas City Association of Law Libraries (KCALL) was established as a non-profit association to promote librarianship, to develop and increase the usefulness of law libraries, to cultivate the science of law librarianship and to foster a spirit of cooperation among the members of the profession.

KCALL adopted its first constitution and bylaws in 1987. For more than a decade prior to adoption, Kansas City area law librarians gathered informally on a monthly basis to discuss common library issues and to share ideas for better information management technologies.

Today, KCALL has a membership of librarians and paraprofessionals employed in private firms, law schools, state and federal court libraries, county, public and specialized libraries and corporate legal departments. Associate members represent various legal publishing and information service vendors.
